Bittersweet_Print Cover

A HUGE thanks to Kat at Aeternum Designs! For the anniversary of Bittersweet’s release, I wanted it to have a facelift. It’s taken me a couple of months of on-and-off searching before I finally found something that I really liked. I absolutely LOVE this cover!

Before you ask, this will be available for The Novel Experience book signing event. If you don’t get me at The Novel Experience, then there are several other times where you can catch me throughout the year. Just check out for where and when on my website.

Cover Art Epiphany

In case you haven’t checked out my website, I have a cover for Hazardous Environment and it looks great!  Honestly, I’m totally in love with it.  😀  But…when my mom and I started talking about when I was going to release HE, she said, “Your cover looks wonderful!  It looks just like your last one that lousy publisher released.”

Wow.  😦  Mom really has a way with words.  She didn’t mean any harm by it, I assure you.  But, she knows my frustrations that I’ve had with Parker and has been witness to them for more than a year now.  She knows exactly how I feel about them, a tenth of what I’ve expressed on this blog.

One of goals this year is not to carry any baggage into the new year.  To start it fresh.  I can’t do that with a cover that reminds me of them.  *sobbing*  So to my heart’s break, I decided to get a new cover.  The only thing is the cover funds for HE are dried up.  Each book has one chance and that’s it.   So, that meant coming up with a new one on my own.

I’m going to duck and cover now in case you guys think that I’ve lost my mind and I should stick to writing.  But I have to admit, nothing says paranormal romance like a guy kissing a girl while submerged in blood and surrounded by claw marks.  😈

One more thing.  The quote is an original from ParaNormal Romance for Seduction on the Prowl.  I want to make that clear, since this is pretty much the same storyline with about 75% of it rewritten.

Here’s the new blurb, too…

Root woman Donna Tucker made a mistake. A person died on her watch, not thanks to tainted roots and herbs that  were meant to heal. Now she must trace her steps to where her stash came from and stop a modern-day plague from  destroying a small town.

She’s not going alone.

Werecheetah Ronan McCleary would rather see her pay for killing his coalition’s matriarch than to accompany her  anywhere. He believes she’s responsible and the only thing this trip is doing is delaying the inevitable. Her death.

But death is hunting them both.

The residents of Seclusion, North Carolina have an unseen force in the midst that has control over the town’s most  influential people. There are those who’ll do anything–kill anyone–to keep the secret of the Davenport Foundation. A  lowly root woman and her werecheetah companion are no match for them. And they won’t be unless they can put their  differences aside and work together to survive the night. Of course, that would mean having to survive each other as  their hearts brave a HAZARDOUS ENVIRONMENT.

Cover Love for Deadlier by the Dozen

Many thanks to Laura Morrigan for her fabulous design and helping me come with something that rocks!  I was going through some serious brain lock when I tried to come up with an idea for a cover.  I even tried my hand at something that turned out to be a cheesy mess, which is why I leave cover art to my two experts.

So even though I know it’s a late, my goal is to have this book loaded up to Smashwords, Amazon, and Barnes and Noble some time this weekend.  The print version usually follows about a month-ish later.  There are still a few tweaks I want to do to the inside, so bear with me.  Plus, I’m finding it hard to deal with the whole conversation process, which I loathe, and finding time to rewrite Hazardous Environment, which I have an incredible newfound love for.  I can’t believe I want to actually procrastinate with getting Deadlier by the Dozen in the hands of readers.  What’s this world coming to?  At pivotal-black-moment-turning-point times like this, I really hate the business side of this business.  😆

Oh, and be on the lookout for an excerpt soon, too.

Cover Art for STRIPPED

It’s official!  Look what I have.

Does that say kick-ass urban fantasy or what?  Kanaxa is master of cover art.  😀

Ending the Week on a Good Note

I’ve seen the preliminary book cover for STRIPPED and it looks awesome!  😀 Some of my writing buddies have seen it, so they have a good idea.  However, they haven’t seen the one that my editor and I approved because I’m building up to the final reveal.  🙂  Anyway, it’s not the official cover yet because the publisher still has to give it the thumbs up or down.  Either way, I know it’s going to great because Samhainhas some of the best book covers in the business.  Urban and gritty, here I come.   And before you ask, yes, it’s it has many of the elements you see on UF covers today.  So let’s hope it still stands out on its own.

On another note, I’ll be heading to Charlotte, NC for ConCarolinas this weekend and I can’t wait.  I have some people to meet (Kalayna, Christina, Misty, Nicole etc.) and panels to enjoy.  The only thing I’m worried about is feeling the blahs.  Crazy, huh?  I’m fourteen weeks into my pregnancy and I have moments of tired ickiness almost everyday now.  It doesn’t last long, but boy is it annoying.  Go figure.  Either way, I’m not letting that stop me from having fun.  I might take it a little easy is all.

Yeah.  Right. Get me around the right group of people and you’ll see just how “relaxed” I am.  😈  Let’s just say it’s a good thing I don’t drink.  Nevertheless, ConCarolinas, here I come!  If you’re there and you see me, you might be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of STRIPPED’s preliminary cover art.  😉

So what do you have planned for this weekend?  Are you ending it on a high note or a low one?
